WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll partner with leaders across Legal, Communications, Public Affairs, and Brand to shape sustainability positions and initiatives. Externally, you’ll collaborate with industry coalitions and NGOs to advance Nike’s sustainability priorities and mitigate risk through strategic engagement.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a leader with exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills—someone who can mobilize partnerships and navigate complex sustainability challenges. You’ll need a proven ability to manage issues proactively, amplify Nike’s reputation, and build consensus across diverse stakeholders. Creativity, political acuity, and strong communication are essential. You understand how global social and political issues intersect with consumer expectations and can lead conversations that matter.

The candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 10+ years of experience in sustainability, preferably in footwear and apparel supply chains
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement and crisis communications, with focus on labor and environmental issues
  • Strong judgment under pressure and exceptional verbal, written, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work out of Beaverton, OR
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll guide strategic partnerships and engagement strategies with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration while managing issues proactively and reactively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and drive key partnerships and industry coalitions required to drive enterprise-wide sustainability priorities.
  • Monitor, prepare, and respond to issues to protect the business and mitigate reputational risk.
  • Develop and implement proactive and reactive stakeholder engagement strategiesli>
  • Strengthen relationships with NGOs, industry experts, academia, and thought leaders on sustainability issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Brand, Legal, Communications, Investor Relations) to shape Nike’s position on topics like circularity, sustainable materials, and social compliance.
  • Provide strategic counsel on emerging issues and crisis management across the business.
