YOU WILL WORK WITH

As an Expert Material & Color Designer in Jordan Energy, you will be partnering with the product design and development teams (Jordan Apparel Design, Color Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design and Development teams) in bringing to life the Creative Direction through Apparel Materials & Color Design, plus Innovation. This role will not have direct reports, reporting directly to the Jordan Sr.

Design Director, Color & Material Excellence, with a dotted line to the Global Sr. Creative Director of Jordan Energy.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an exceptional Apparel Color & Material Design Expert to combine their experience, problem‑solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Jordan Energy Apparel.

The ideal Expert Color & Material Designer will create the right color & material direction to excite the next generation of top designers and athletes that work with us. Working on collaborative and non‑collaborative projects to drive edge and innovation for Jordan Energy. In this role, you’ll need high taste level and fluency in ways of working with high‑caliber collaborators and partners to co‑create and build trust in support of product excellence.

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design or any relevant degree. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 8+ years of relevant design experience exemplifying ability to push material design, and/or relevant experience in Textile, Color and/or Product Design.
  • Ability to create concepts and explore new Materials innovations and technologies
  • Understanding of color trends, color compatibility, and color limitations
  • Proven collaboration with manufacturing partners including: materials/fabrics/finishes/applications and constructions, etc.
  • Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and narrative direction.
  • Ability to create and edit files using Adobe Suite programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Digital platform exploration :
    Gravity Sketch, Vizcom, CLO are a plus
  • Highly organized and self‑sufficient with a solution‑oriented approach to execution
  • Strong verbal, written, visual, and high‑profile communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Ability to collaborate with and effectively manage external creative partners
  • Keen sense of design and youth culture trends, with ability to translate insight into narrative and product execution
  • Contribute and align to shared team culture and behaviors
  • Speaks up with courage for self and the team
  • Comfort with ambiguity with a solution‑oriented mindset
  • Open minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of view
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your day to day job will be partnering with leadership, working on future materials and methods of make on key projects, creating partnerships with Apparel product designers, Color Design, Developers, and Product Line Managers to name a few.
