Women's Tennis Designer
Location:
Beaverton, OR
Duration: 4-month contract
Pay Rate: $55–$65/hr on W2
Who you'll work withThis position reports to the Tennis Design Director and collaborates with a team focused on branded tennis and signature athlete apparel for women. The role requires managing cross‑functional relationships with athletes, graphic designers, product management & merchandising, material/trim development, technical development, and sourcing teams. It involves translating consumer & athlete insights into trend‑driven, high‑performance products. The position has no direct reports.
Whowe are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related field, or equivalent education, experience, and training.
- 5+ years of design experience working with materials, trims, design, and fit.
- Outstanding ability to apply foundational design skills—drawing/sketching, illustration across analog and digital platforms. 3D experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, strong presentation skills, and the ability to convey design concepts to internal and external partners.
- Comprehensive understanding of materials, fit, and performance design.
- Strong portfolio with experience in apparel design; extra consideration for sport performance and sport‑style innovation.
- Culture‑builder who prioritizes teamwork, collaboration, and relationships.
- Passion for apparel design, collection‑based design, and balancing performance with style as a creative problem‑solver.
- Storyteller with a passion for narrative and product improvement.
- Strong focus with excellent time‑management and prioritization habits.

Take senior designer sketches and transfer them into Illustrator, gather materials, create mood boards, and act as a liaison between designers and the larger organization.
PortfolioShow wide scope of creative talent, hand‑drawn illustrations, computer sketches, and clear apparel background.
Must Have5+ years of experience in apparel design; ability to create own sketches.
Strong understanding of mood boards, Illustrator, and Keynote.
PersonalityNo ego, supportive, outgoing, positive, flexible, and able to pivot.
Nice to Have- Familiarity with tennis apparel and women's tennis.
- Experience with 3D or Photoshop.
Knowledge of the internal process for rapid ramp‑up within our organization.
