WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Under the direction of a Sr Designer or Design Director, you will collaborate on the development of innovative and scalable retail environments and programs that reflect Nike's design standards and enhance the consumer retail experience. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Nike as well as external design agencies, architectural firms, fixture and experience vendors, and general contractors.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Expert Designer will support and execute consumer led retail concepts and support the evolution of the Nike retail business. This individual will adapt and amplify scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments. This designer will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete individual projects by leveraging design processes, playbooks and best practices to ensure the creative intent, design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met.

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or environmental design. Will accept any suitable combination of education and experience, and training.
  • 8+ years design experience.
  • Retail design industry/environments experience preferred, retail environments, concepts and programs, fixture design.
  • A passion for the Athlete*, Sport, and Culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design processes. Advanced knowledge of computer systems (Sketch Up, Enscape, Adobe suite, Grasshopper, ACAD). Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development thoughts ideation.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in architecture, retail, events, exhibitions, art, and experience design — and their application to the sport industry.
  • Demonstrated strength in operating in a design studio and delivering progressively complex projects of varying scales, budgets, and timelines.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations. Strong ability to effectively communicate concepts/design intent to senior creative team.
  • Ability to confidently source, screen and manage contractors/external vendors including design and production studios/agencies.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.
  • A sense of humor, positivity and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • You will adapt, extend and execute the store design vision and strategy across the Nike stores portfolio - develop market right environments factoring in the needs of the Consumer, the Brand and our Business partners.
  • Elevating retail design – you will lead a consistent level of deliverables across art & design, constantly elevating Nike’s Design and Store Design output.
  • Support studios with hands‑on creative work – you will lead in innovative thinking, collaboration, and hands‑on execution on the day to day of the projects. Represent creative in reviews with leadership when needed.
  • Provide inspiration for the discipline – you will keep up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media, sport culture and technology as relevant to Nike and the design team.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration – you will collaborate with Retail Brand, Business, Construction Visual Merchandise Partners, to deliver integrated and impactful consumer experiences.
  • This position requires a forward thinking, detail‑oriented design minded creative, that builds on the Global Creative Direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects.
  • This individual will create presentation documents, 3D and 2D files to communicate design concepts to the Sr. Creative Director, cross functional and external partners.
  • You may travel 5 – 15% of the time.
