Expert Footwear Designer
Our client is seeking an Expert Footwear Designer to contribute to high‑visibility, innovation‑driven footwear projects within a performance‑focused design organization. This individual will operate at a senior creative level, translating product vision into compelling, manufacturable designs while navigating complex, cross‑functional environments with confidence and independence. The ideal candidate brings deep footwear industry experience, strong leadership presence, and the ability to execute from concept through production.
Hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Responsibilities- Lead the design direction for a defined footwear category or collection, ensuring alignment with overarching creative vision and seasonal objectives.
- Develop and execute footwear concepts that integrate innovation, advanced materials, and manufacturing considerations from early ideation through final production.
- Communicate design intent, progress, and changes clearly to cross‑functional partners and leadership to maintain momentum and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate closely with partners across design, development, innovation, merchandising, manufacturing, and sustainability to drive cohesive product outcomes.
- Provide informal mentorship and creative guidance to other designers, contributing to overall design excellence and culture.
- 10+ years of professional footwear design experience, with demonstrated expertise in industrial design within a large, corporate footwear environment.
- Proven ability to design innovative, performance‑driven footwear products with a strong understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing stakeholders and aligning diverse teams around a shared design vision.
- Self‑directed project management capability, with a deep understanding of footwear product creation workflows and the ability to navigate complexity independently.
- Advanced proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), with working knowledge of digital and 3D design tools strongly preferred.
Up to $65/hr. (DOE)
