Footwear Product Designer

Location:

Beaverton, Oregon Job Type: Contract Compensation Range: $51 - 56 per hour Ready to step onto the big stage and shape the future of elite athletic performance? We are looking for a visionary Footwear Product Designer to drive innovative, high-performance cleated footwear concepts for major sports from concept to retail! Bring your creative mastery and technical expertise to a world-class team where your designs will directly impact the game.

Responsibilities:

Ideation & Visioning
- Generates new ways of thinking about aspects of performance based products that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace.

Develops ideas that are consistent with the vision for new products by collaborating with product creation on the genesis of new product concepts for all business units.

Research/Engineering
- Defines protocol and establishes scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept. In line with advanced knowledge of the consumer, business, and performance requirements, develops concrete insights which feed into the development of advanced product concepts through the use of new technologies or construction processes. Delivers proof of concept by turning concepts and new product visions into reality.

Identifies key elements of product construction materials and processes. Engineers prototypes.

Project Management
- Leads innovation projects turning concept ideation into reality by working in, or with, multi-disciplinary teams to include product creation, manufacturing, and 3rd party vendors. Meets complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions.

Qualifications:

Portfolios required with submissions; candidates will be disqualified without.
7+ years' experience minimum preferred in a footwear designer role.

Top must-have skills include the following:

Ability to handle projects independently that are technical and performance-driven.

Strong concept building skills.

Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
Flexibility/maturity to pivot and prioritize responsibilities as needed.

Comfortable working in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.

Skills that would make a candidate stand out:3D rendering experience.

Use of AI tools (i.e. Vizcom) for conceptual generation.

Experience working in a large, matrix organization.
