Position Title:
Senior Network Planning Engineer
Salary: $75,000 to $125,000 annually DOE

The Sr. Network Planning Engineer is responsible for the oversight, planning, budgeting, and project timing for network growth, modernization, consolidation, and advancement needs in a fiber‑focused business. The Planner uses various inputs to determine the optimal network distribution solutions based on demand, architecture, funding, and anticipated growth. The Planner analyzes current demand, geospatial data, data analytics, and forecasts to determine and implement the best network solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze network demands using multiple inputs such as forecasts, consumption, GIS tools, analytics, and other market indicators.
- Determine optimal project architecture solutions while balancing the customer experience, cost, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop project costing and support business case development.
- Guide partner organizations/suppliers to implement solutions successfully.
- Drive network and process advancement.
- Perform other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
- 5+ years of related experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or job‑related field preferred.
- The qualified candidate will need to have a broad network understanding:
- Access networks
- FTTP/FTTN
- BBDLC network
- Ethernet services
- Feeder/distribution facilities
- Customer premise solutions
- MDU/MTU solutions
- SONET
- Wireless
- Transport/data dependencies
- Outside plant (OSP) architectures consisting of underground, direct buried, aerial, and building applications.
- In‑depth understanding of PON architectures to include centralized and distributed split, greenfield MDU/SFU, and inside wiring solutions.
- Network elements associated with FTTP, FTTN, xPON, BDLc, TDM, G.Hn, broadband services, and active ethernet solutions.
- Understanding of CPE solutions.
- GIS experience with platforms such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Understanding of CAD‑based drawing systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience with common analytics tools (i.e., Alteryx, Tableau).
- Database skills which include creation, scripting, and programming (i.e., Microsoft SQL), preferred.
- Understand LEAN concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross‑functionally to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to work in a team environment driven by partnerships and collaborate with colleagues.
