SummaryPlans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in an industrial plant, with a primary focus on the mechanics value stream, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead/Manage projects to localize production operations.
- Design, create, and improve production lines using Lean and other common manufacturing methodologies.
- Monitor/institute value stream KPIs through the PDCA process using these KPIs to drive down inefficiencies, downtime, and improve quality.
- Report value stream KPIs at the daily PDCA 1 and 2 meetings and discuss the details of the daily numbers.
- Actively work with operators and management on continuous improvement in the Value Stream.
- Maintain equipment and ensure that it is in good condition, operational and calibrated according to Engineering, Quality and Operations’ specifications.
- Create, review, and update all technical production standards and documentation.
- Bill of material creation and management.
- Process routing management including verification of routings with time studies.
- Write project proposals including financial justification.
- Vendor management and coordination.
- Utilize formal troubleshooting and problem‑solving methodologies.
- Be self‑motivated and committed to being productive with little supervision.
- Be willing to learn new skills and take training as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited four‑year college or university and more than five years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G‑Suite).
- Familiarity with solid modeling preferred.
- Auto Cad 2D drawing or equivalent preferred.
- ERP Experience.
- Proficient in Lean Manufacturing: SMED, EPEI, PFEP, Kanban, Glenday Sieve/flow.
- Advanced knowledge of SMT process.
- Good verbal and written language communication skills.
- Good technical writing ability.
Engineering level.
Reasoning AbilityEngineering level. Can use reason to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Lean Expert industry training.
- Six Sigma (white/yellow) industry training.
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Good manual skills. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift objects up to 50 lbs. The employee frequently is required to use hands, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
