Position Summary

Pro Ampac is seeking a Quality Manager to support our Beaverton, Oregon manufacturing facility, which produces paper bags for food and consumer applications. This role reports to the Plant Manager with functional support from the Division Director of Quality. This is a hands‑on position requiring regular presence on the manufacturing floor. The Quality Manager serves as the site owner of the Quality Management System and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and customer requirements while partnering closely with manufacturing and site leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System in alignment with SQF and corporate standards
  • Serve as the site SQF Practitioner and lead all external and internal audits
  • Maintain and enforce HACCP, food safety, and prerequisite programs
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Leadership to ensure quality and food safety expectations are met across all shifts
  • Provide training and guidance to production and support teams on quality and food safety requirements
  • Manage customer complaints, nonconformances, and corrective actions
  • Monitor site quality performance and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, auditors, and other Pro Ampac sites as needed
  • Maintain strong floor presence to support compliance, coaching, and real‑time issue resolution
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant and business needs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field preferred, or equivalent manufacturing quality experience
  • HACCP Certification required
  • Experience working with SQF‑certified facilities and audit processes
  • Prior experience in manufacturing quality or food safety environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a site‑level leadership role
Physical & Work Environment
  • This role is split between office/desk work and regular time on the manufacturing floor
  • Position requires frequent movement throughout the facility to observe processes, conduct inspections, support audits, and coach employees in real time
  • Desk work includes managing documentation, reviewing data, completing reports, and maintaining quality and food safety records
  • Strong attention to detail is required for document control, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on the production floor, including safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection
