Materials Developer, Apparel Textiles
Our client is seeking a highly collaborative and detail‑driven Materials Developer with a strong foundation in apparel textiles and performance materials. This individual thrives in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and brings both technical depth and creative curiosity to seasonal material development. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable partnering across teams to deliver high‑quality textile and trim solutions from concept through adoption.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Responsibilities- Lead seasonal textile development initiatives from kickoff through final adoption, including testing and validation.
- Partner closely with design, product, and supplier teams to ensure materials perform as intended in finished garments.
- Develop and manage textile (and supporting trim) solutions that balance aesthetics, performance, and quality.
- Navigate multiple work streams simultaneously, maintaining organization and accuracy in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to align material direction with broader product and innovation goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in textiles, apparel, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in textile development, ideally within performance or apparel categories.
- Proven experience developing fabrics for outerwear, bodywear, or similar end uses; trim experience required.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail‑oriented approach to managing complex development timelines.
- Proficiency with product development and collaboration tools (e.g., PCX, Smartsheet, Miro, PPS); certification in project management is a plus.
Compensation:
Up to $37/hr. (DOE)
