Senior, Golf & Impact Sports FW, Product Developer

We’re hiring a Senior Footwear Developer to join our Brand Impact Sports Footwear Development. This role will have opportunities to work on Football, Baseball, Golf, and Tennis footwear.

As a member of the Nike Product Development team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners – both within Nike and external to Nike. You will report to the Footwear Development Director for Brand Impact Sports.

You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You will be the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

In the Brand Impact Sports Footwear team, we create the future of Football, Baseball, Tennis and Golf footwear through deep connections to athletes and sport. Our team, in collaboration with other functions, creates products that represent the best of Nike innovation and sport performance. The Senior Footwear Product Developer will be an integral part of our Footwear Product Creation Team tasked with creating amazing Football, Baseball, Tennis and Golf product.

We want a candidate with demonstrated project management experience, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills in a footwear product creation setting. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter, quick learner, clear communicator, team player and exhibits strong leadership skills. Previous experience with innovative, technical, performance product is also a plus.

As a Senior Footwear Developer you’ll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. Working on highly complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a design rendering into a sample that meets the needs of both the consumer and the business. You’ll utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product and team excellence.

You’ll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, and sustainability targets. In addition, you’ll ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development or Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Industrial Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
  • A minimum of 3 years directly relevant work experience
  • High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members
  • Knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes, technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials is highly preferred
  • Previous experience with innovative, technical, performance product is preferred
  • Understanding of product planning, forecasting, and process planning with strong communication skills
