Position: Support Red Cross Blood Drives! (Beaverton Donation Site) (age 16+) Referral

Are you a friendly, well-organized and enthusiastic person who can represent the Red Cross to our blood donors?

• Blood Donor Ambassadors ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, checking them in to their appointment, answering questions, or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support!
• Location:
  
  Beaverton Blood Donation Center (11200 SW Murray Scholls Place, Suite 101, Beaverton, OR 97007) and mobile drives in Washington County.

You’ll need to meet these important qualifications:

• Manage the reception process by ensuring each donor is warmly greeted and assisted with initial intake according to the appointment priority system
• May manage the hospitality experience by offering refreshments to donors, thanking them for their contribution, and alerting staff immediately if a donor shows signs of feeling unwell
• Communicate in a professional manner with diverse populations Demonstrate excellent customer service and comfort working with people
• Ability to follow safety protocols and directions consistently and thoroughly

Opportunity Requirements:

• Background check required
• Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 18 requires parental consent

Time Commitment:

• 1+ shift a month, with shifts being 4 hours in length. 6-month commitment. Must be open to mobile blood drives shifts in your community as well.
• Weekday availability required - shift availability is limited.

• The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need. Each volunteer shift you take is another opportunity to help save lives.
