Now hiring Safety Services Team Members! Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking candidates to join our Safety Services team to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our community to gather and recreate.

The ideal candidate has experience in a public safety role focused on customer education and ensuring compliance with organization rules. Experience working with diverse communities, or a unique background that adds perspective, is strongly desired. Strong customer service skills and an eagerness to work in our diverse Beaverton‑area community are essential.

A typical day involves acting as a district ambassador, applying a diversity, equity, inclusion, and all‑access lens to daily decisions. Staff serve as an approachable presence in our parks andskáy facilities, providing information and educating patrons about rules, regulations, and laws that help keep our parks safe and enjoyable. Safety Services also collaborates with local police departments to address safety concerns and enhance community safety.

Schedule

Shifts are 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 3:30 PM–12:30 PM, with approximately 29 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Oregon DPSST Private Security Professional (Unarmed) certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Bilingual and multilingual skills, preferred. THRPD offers a pay incentive for staff who utilize their bilingual or multilingual skills at work.
Experience & Training

Any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities-Shirt is qualifying.

  • Experience, education, and training related to security work, public service, or public communication/education is helpful

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant specialized training or coursework is a plus.
