As a CBRE Mobile Building Engineer, you will support several facilities in the Portland, OR area, performing repairs and maintenance on buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and ground requests. Your role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and includes preventive maintenance, repairs on equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with extensive everyday travel in the Portland, OR area.
  • Live within the designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.
  • Willing to work on‑call before/after hours and respond to incidents and emergencies as needed.
What You'll Do
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities up to applicable standards.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation within design capabilities.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Operate company‑issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in‑depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You'll Need
  • Light Commercial & Residential HVAC.
  • Mechanical (Doors), Electrical (Lighting) and Plumbing.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office & CMMS).
  • Strong communication skills.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. To perform this job effectively, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as a building engineer; minimum of four years.
  • Mobile maintenance experience highly preferred.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
Certificates and/or Licenses
  • Universal EPA license required.
  • Certification in two or more of the following:
    Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, as well as CFC Certification.
Other Skills and/Or Abilities
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
