Mechanical Assembly Technician

Location:

Beccles, Suffolk

Pay: £16.68 per hour + regular overtime available at enhanced rates

Contract:

Full-Time, Temporary (up to 6 months)

Hales Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Technician on behalf of a leading engineering manufacturer based in Beccles.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled team building bespoke automation and specialist machinery for a range of industries. Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications, you'll be involved in the assembly, fitting and testing of high-quality machinery and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly of machinery, sub-assemblies and specialist equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, build instructions and technical documentation
  • Precision fitting, alignment and installation of mechanical components
  • Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
  • Selecting, modifying and installing parts to meet design specifications
  • Carrying out quality inspections throughout the assembly process
  • Identifying and reporting faults, defects or build issues
  • Maintaining accurate production records and documentation
  • Working to company quality, safety and production standards
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in Mechanical Assembly, Mechanical Fitting, Machine Building or a similar engineering role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and general workshop equipment
  • Good understanding of assembly techniques and quality standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
