Job Title: Director of Nursing – Women’s & Children’s Health
Location: Beckley, WV

About the Department:
Our Women’s & Children’s Services deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care aligned with national standards. The department includes a Labor & Delivery unit, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and Level I NICU. Multidisciplinary teams utilize advanced healthcare technology to ensure safe, coordinated, patient-centered care, supporting strong mother–baby bonding and healthy outcomes.
Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing – Women’s & Children’s Health provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the Women’s & Children’s Department. This role oversees departmental activities, manages resources, ensures high-quality care, and fosters a culture of professional growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Direct operations of Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, and Pediatric services to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing staff while fostering a supportive, engaged team culture.
- Oversee staff education, competency validation, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including HIPAA and Joint Commission requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets and resources, supporting internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and leadership to enhance care coordination and service delivery.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current WV RN license or eligibility for licensure
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in Women’s & Children’s Health
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships with medical staff
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (or obtain within a defined timeframe)
