Job Description
Plans and directs activities related to the nutritional care of patients. Interprets physician’s orders in terms of individualized daily meal patterns and menus according to therapeutic needs. Utilizes knowledge of various disease states as they relate to food intake and nutritional requirements under varying types of therapy. Considers behavioral, social and psychological implications of acute and chronic illness as well as patient’s social and financial status while meeting medical requirements for nutritional therapy.
Provides nutritional education for prevention and treatment. Working with nutritional manager and dietary staff on diets, menu, recipes, write diet orders as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with major in food and nutrition required. Appropriate degree that meets the Commission on Dietetic Registration requirements for internship acceptance may be substituted.
Licensed with the State of West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians. Valid Food Service Worker Permit from the Beckley-Raleigh Co.Board of Health.
