I am seeking an experienced perioperative nurse leader to step into a key Director-level role overseeing Surgical Services for a busy acute-care environment. This position offers the opportunity to direct a full scope of surgical operations while working closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and clinical teams to elevate quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Position OverviewThe Surgical Services RN Director provides leadership, strategic oversight, and operational direction for all perioperative areas, including Main OR, Outpatient Surgery, PACU, Pre/Post, and Endoscopy. This leader plays a central role in optimizing workflow, ensuring regulatory compliance, advancing quality initiatives, and supporting a high-performing surgical team.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide operational and clinical leadership for Main OR, Outpatient Surgery, PACU, Pre/Post, and Endoscopy.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators such as case volume, turnover time, block utilization, and on-time starts.
Lead OR efficiency initiatives aimed at improving throughput and minimizing delays.
Ensure full compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, state regulations, and internal policy standards.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support safe, high-quality perioperative care.
Develop and manage operating and capital budgets while ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to enhance communication and operational performance.
Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives, promoting evidence-based perioperative practice.
Recruit, mentor, and develop perioperative nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
Oversee staff education, competency validation, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current or eligible West Virginia RN license.
57 years of perioperative nursing experience, including OR leadership or management roles.
Strong knowledge of perioperative standards such as AORN and ASPAN, as well as regulatory requirements including CMS and Joint Commission.
BLS and ACLS certifications required (or obtained within a designated timeframe).
