The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified construction company engaged in all major aspects of heavy civil construction, mining services, environmental services and transportation and courier services within the Atlantic Provinces.

Co‑op Student Accountant (September 2026 – December 2026) – Operations based out of Bedford, NS.

• Assist in daily maintenance of accounting records, including preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash, and capital assets.
• Perform internal audit procedures.
• Provide timely and accurate service to internal clients.
• Assist with Accounts Payable.
• Reconcile vendor statements for the Municipal Group of Companies.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
• Input data and integrate with the accounting system (Event Software).
• File and maintain records.
• Provide timely and accurate information to external clients.
• Other duties as required by the Department.

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Robust organizational and planning skills.
• Solid computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Reliable transportation required as the office is not located on a bus route.
