  • Job Summary:

    A Health and Safety Advisor partners with operations teams to provide guidance, support, and practical solutions that reinforce a positive safety culture and drive safe work practices.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor employees and supervisors on safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to encourage best practices
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses and help develop corrective and preventive measures
  • Promote open dialogue around safety issues and encourage a culture of accountability and care
  • Participate in audits (COR) and contribute to the maintenance of safety certifications
  • Assist with compiling safety metrics and reporting for leadership
  • All other duties as required
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and

    Experience:

  • Construction experience and training preferred
  • Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and safety management software (e.g. eCompliance)
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Must be willing and able to travel within Nova Scotia
