Assists in the development of menus in accordance with therapeutic nutrition guidelines.Assesses patients’ nutritional status on admission and at least semi-annually; reviews monthly weights and follows up as required.Completes texture modification assessments on referral; participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.Addresses patients’ individual dietary concerns.Develops and establishes policies and objectives consistent with those of the organization and department to ensure achievement of clinical goals.Manages expenditures and works to ensure compliance with approved budget.Collects and enters appropriate data into appropriate software to ensure patient diet types and any likes, dislikes and allergies are accurately recorded.Oversee and plan special nutrition needs for special diets, allergies and disease conditions.Monitors and documents progress of patients at high nutritional risk utilizing electronic health care record.Documents responses to referrals appropriately in electronic healthcare record.Providing leadership and overseeing provision of quality maintenance of food services.Communicate with other Dietitians to assess patient information prior to admission both to and from the facility.About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition/Dietetics with completion of approved Dietetic InternshipMinimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of clinical dietetic servicesProof of valid membership in the Nova Scotia Regulator of DieteticsProof of valid Basic/Advanced Food Safety Certification is requiredTraining in dysphagia assessment and management is requiredKnowledge of principles and practices of dietetics and nutrition.Knowledge of nutritional problems and concerns of patient population.Knowledge of therapeutic meal planning.Ability to analyze…
