Position Overview:

BNL High School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Girls Varsity Tennis Coach to lead and develop our Girls Varsity Tennis team. The Girls Varsity Tennis Coach will play a crucial role in the growth and success of our tennis program, working closely with student-athletes to enhance their skills, foster sportsmanship, and promote teamwork. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

• Coaching:
  
  Plan and conduct tennis practices focusing on skill development, strategy, and match tactics. Provide instruction on tennis techniques, rules, and match strategies to enhance players' performance.
• Match Preparation:
  Analyze opponents, strategize for matches, and prepare the team for various tennis events and tournaments.
• Player Development:
  Offer players personalized coaching and feedback to help them improve their tennis skills, mental toughness, and understanding of the game.
• Attendance:
  Attend all team practices, matches, tournaments, and other related events, which may include occasional weekend travel.
• Team Culture:
  Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect for fellow team members, opponents, and the tennis court.
• Team Management:
  Assisted in organizing team events, fundraisers, and community engagement activities that supported the tennis program.
• Academic Monitoring:
  Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and well-being, offering guidance and support to ensure their success academically and athletically.
• Compliance:
  Ensure strict adherence to school and district policies regarding athlete conduct, safety, and eligibility.
• Logistics:
  Manage tennis equipment, coordinate practice and match schedules, and perform other logistical tasks related to the tennis program.

• Tennis
  
  Experience:
  
  Previous experience playing tennis, preferably at a competitive level, with a strong understanding of tennis rules, techniques, and match strategies.
• Coaching
  
  Experience:
  
  Coaching experience is advantageous, especially in high school or equivalent settings.
• Communication
  
  Skills:
  
  Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact with players, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.
• Leadership: A positive and motivational approach to coaching, demonstrating leadership on and off the tennis court.
• Player Development:
  Ability to inspire and motivate athletes to reach their full potential and develop their tennis skills.
• Inclusivity:
  Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that values diversity and promotes the growth of all team members.
• Availability:
  During after-school hours, evenings, and weekends for practices, matches, and team-related activities.

• Valid coaching certifications or a willingness to acquire necessary coaching certifications.
• Completion of background checks and other mandated clearances in accordance with school district policies.
• Adherence to all school and district guidelines and procedures.
