General SummaryEntry-level position for students to participate and provide student perspective on our JED Committees, which are centered around student mental health and well-being. Committee Members are expected to read through committee documents and materials, participate in discussion, and follow-up on tasks as assigned during committee meetings. The primary focus of this role is for students to be represented in conversations about how to support student mental health.
Committees include Mental Health & Substance Use, Community & Belonging, and Awareness Campaigns. Approximately 3 hours per month, which will include attending a monthly meeting, reading committee material, and any follow-up as assigned.
- Attend meetings as assigned
- Prepare for scheduled meetings, including reviewing committee materials prior
- Actively participate in meetings
- Complete any follow-up work as needed
- Currently enrolled as a student at Middlesex Community College
- Completion of at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA and current enrollment in college-level courses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to share openly and participate fully in dialog during meetings
- Ability to attend meetings online (may also include some in-person meetings on occasion)
- Understanding of and adherence to all confidentiality standards of the College
- Experience representing the student viewpoint
- Interest in mental health
