Occupational Health Nurse - RN
Work Care, Inc. is seeking an experienced RN to provide first aid, medical care, and occupational health services to clinic employees.
Job SummaryThe onsite will provide first aid and medical care to clinic employees as requested/needed, within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director and client policy/procedures.
ScheduleMonday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide on-site treatment/management of injuries and minimize the need for off-site medical treatment.
- Give on-site care, first aid and follow up to occupationally injured/ill workers.
- Manage open workers comp and short-term disability cases as needed.
- Maintain a medical record database and provide reports to management as applicable.
- Maintain OSHA records as applicable.
- Perform medical testing including TB tests, blood draws, immunizations, drug screening, vision tests, hearing tests, respirator fit tests and medical evaluations.
- Perform First Aid, CPR, AED and other training as necessary.
- Maintain clinic supplies for treatment and preventative measures in the workplace.
- Provide preventative health education as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- 3–5 years experience required.
- 2-3 years’ experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health preferred.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
- Gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Create and edit written materials.
- Communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Organize resources and establish priorities.
- Cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.
- Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
- Meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.
- Work independently as well as assist other team members when needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Client-facing and teamwork skills.
- Competent in Windows operating system, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software as needed.
- Requires sitting for long periods at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching may be required.
- Working under stress and using computer/phone.
- Manual dexterity for use of keyboard.
- Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Lift/move up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
- Mainly indoor office environment.
- Moderate noise level.
- Good air quality, controlled temperature.
This position has an hourly pay range of $45 - $55 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
