Software Verification and Validation Engineer
Job Summary: The Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that software products meet the required standards and specifications before release. This role involves planning, designing, executing, and documenting testing activities to verify and validate software functionalities, identify defects, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement software verification and validation plans, protocols, and procedures.
- Design, write, and execute test cases based on software requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Document test results and maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and code to ensure testability and compliance.
- Ensure software meets quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, IEC, FDA, etc.).
- Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation activities related to software quality.
- Develop, maintain and improve automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Provide input into continuous improvement of V&V processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in software testing, verification, and validation (V&V).
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Test Rail).
- Proficiency of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Window Powershell , Python, Selenium, etc.).
- Familiarity with Windows Domain configurations and maintenance.
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is desirable.
- Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, DO-178C).
- Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance principles.
- Experience in Agile or Waterfall development environments.
$50.00/hr - $60.00/hr
May involve collaboration with cross‑functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and regulatory specialists. Some roles may require occasional travel or work in lab environments.
