Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager
GEI’s Bedford, New Hampshire office is seeking an experienced senior geotechnical engineer / project manager to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Work will primarily focus on transportation and infrastructure projects. Projects may also include buildings, dams and levees, and waterfront development. Candidate will be responsible for managing projects, collaborating with team members to prepare technical and price proposals, managing subsurface explorations, preparing geotechnical reports, preparing technical specifications, and managing geotechnical construction observation assignments.
- Perform and manage geotechnical engineering analyses and design.
- Manage projects including budget, schedule, and quality.
- Manage field explorations and construction activities.
- Coordinate geotechnical laboratory testing and interpret results.
- Coordinate preparation of reports and construction specifications.
- Prepare proposals and participate in business development activities.
- Attend project meetings and communicate with clients.
- Train and mentor staff.
- Collaborate with GEI staff and clients across various offices, regions, and disciplines.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering. M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- 8 or more years of experience.
- Professional Engineer licensed in NH or ability to obtain within in 3 months.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
- Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Geostudio, Lpile, and common geotechnical software.
- Able to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
- Able to visit construction sites without restrictions.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
