Job Description

The Team Performance Leader (TPL) is accountable for leading daily shift operations and assisting the Management team as needed to meet performance goals. Additionally, the TPL will coordinate production requirements by communicating production priorities established through Production Management, Production Control, and Shipping, as well as ensuring orders are processed with an emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity. This role will also be responsible for setting and meeting continuous improvement objectives, monitoring the performance of the team, and taking appropriate actions when an individual or team is not meeting goals in attendance, safety, productivity, and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively take actions to minimize scrap, customer returns, and direct teams to ensure that quality indicators are tracked and up to date; audit quality logs and check-out sheets.
  • Audit standards, update production targets, eliminate and correct obstacles that may impact shift productivity; lead and direct teams to ensure workflow, meeting schedules, and customer demands—taking appropriate action to meet business needs.
  • Ensure plant safety rules are always followed by monitoring employee behavior and work practices.
  • Address unsafe acts, conditions, and violations.
  • Administer current safety programs to assure the health and safety of employees and compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Identify training gaps of the workforce and utilize SPLs (Single Point Lessons) to close the gaps.
  • Record attendance and document vacation and holiday taken; document absenteeism and communicate unfavorable trends to the supervisor/manager.
  • Administer and approve employees’ time and attendance.
  • Advise management of employee issues that may require immediate attention regarding safety, quality, production, and personnel.
  • Facilitate real‑time root cause problem solving and ensure escalation protocols are followed (linking support functions).
  • Coach and counsel teams through accountability, motivate team to achieve goals, and ensure effective team communications.
  • Assist management in assessing individual and team performance and development.
  • Support and champion business decisions.
  • Direct individuals and/or teams regarding immediate actions when necessary to meet safety, quality, or productivity measures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Act as a key communicator, both internal and external, regarding critical issues impacting the department’s performance.
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
Requirements
  • Minimum 3‑5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player.
  • Computer knowledge (Excel, Word); SAP and ERP desired.
  • Demonstrated safety commitment.
  • Positive work history with ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
