Position: Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)

Description

Job Summary:

As a Pharmacist in Charge, you are responsible for overseeing the distribution of medications to our patients. Your duties include communicating with local physicians to determine the type of medication and dosage for a customer, taking inventory of pharmaceutical drugs to reorder them based on local demand and interacting with pharmacy customers to give them their prescriptions and answer medication questions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising and training Bedford pharmacy staff, such as Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Community Marketers, etc.
  • Providing inventory and customer service assistance to our affiliates in the Greater Houston area via an Internet connection.
  • Overseeing prescription processes.
  • Ordering inventory and managing stock to prevent shortages.
  • Resolving customer concerns to support positive patient experiences.
  • Communicating with healthcare providers regarding patient medication needs
  • Ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Board License required.
  • Experience in community marketing and healthcare networking is required.
  • Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc.
  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office and Pharmacy information systems (e.g., Pioneer Rx, Match Rx, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach are required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is a must.
  • Integrity and compassion are required.
  • Ability to administer vaccinations in compliance with best practices.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy procedures, including medication storage and recalls.
  • Ability to create compound medication for individual patient needs.
  • Proficiency with medication therapy management (MTM) to educate patients on their prescriptions.
  • Familiarity with best dispensing practices.

Proficiency in any of the following languages is highly encouraged:

  • Spanish
