Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including stress testing and PET/CT studies, in an outpatient clinical setting. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a fast-paced workflow while ensuring patient safety and quality imaging.
ResponsibilitiesPerform cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including Nuclear Stress Tests and PET/CT stress studies.
Conduct an average of 810 Nuclear Stress Tests and approximately 5 PET/CT stress tests per day.
Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Operate nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide reassurance throughout the exam process.
Monitor patients during stress testing and report any unusual reactions to appropriate clinical staff.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Perform routine equipment quality control and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and manage daily workflow independently.
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology program (required).
CNMT certification required upon hire (ART certification acceptable).
Prior experience in an outpatient clinic setting required.
Experience with cardiac and stress testing procedures preferred.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume outpatient environment.
