Overview

The Production Technician separates whole blood into blood and blood components, operating equipment and labeling components for long‑term storage or shipment. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with FDA, AABB, EU, and OSHA standards, and all applicable company procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager and Assistant Manager of Production/Labeling, the Production Technician performs the separation of whole blood into components, properly operates equipment, and labels the components. Work must be completed in a manner consistent with departmental goals and objectives.

Regular full‑time attendance during normal working hours is required.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Graduate, or GED
  • Experience:

    Production or manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Must complete training for essential functions within 90 days, as appropriate for the shift assigned. Organized and able to document details accurately and completely, both electronically and manually
    • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team, with or without direct supervision
    • Ability to work with strict time expectations, restraints and deadlines
    • Uses equipment effectively, skillfully and efficiently
    • Good verbal and written English communication skills
    • Ability to remain focused on repetitive tasks
