• Accept responsibility for all department functions in support of mission, vision and facility goals.
• Clinical RN responsible for critical thinking decisions within scope of RN Practice Act.
• Prioritize patient safety for surgical services.
• Integrate information management and effective communication skills in daily practice.
• Adhere to ANA Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Practice.
• Serve as liaison fostering partnership with patients and significant others.
• Make decisions supporting continuity and coordination of care across settings.
• Maintain high quality, age‑specific care from adolescents through adults.
• Create orthopedics–joint department initiatives and process improvement.
• Collaborate with all healthcare team members.
• Manage personnel, payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships.
• Act as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
• Organize and supervise human and material resources.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred.

• Current RN license for Texas or compact license required.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.

• Minimum of 5 years management experience, including personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, supervisory positions, and physician relations (preferred).
