Packaging Designer

The company is looking to recruit a Senior Packaging Designer to lead food packaging development projects for a broad range of customers. The role is commutable from Milton Keynes, Luton, Stevenage. Salary is £30,000–£35,000 p.a., plus pension and benefits.

• Develop and define packaging from briefs originating from clients and colleagues.
• Generate concepts using Artios CAD.
• Make revisions, additions, and improvements to archived designs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Cut and Crease, Finishing, and Die Managers to ensure compatibility of new designs with existing manufacturing facilities.
• Continue developing an understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with a busy packaging plant.
• Produce layouts for estimating and die making.
• Create technical dimensional drawings.
• Make samples and prototypes from a wide range of boards using the Kongsberg Folding Carton Samples table.

• Proven recent and relevant experience in carton board construction design, demonstrating high levels of creativity.
• Experience in the food packaging environment is advantageous but not required.
• Strong ability to use Artios CAD and deliver 3D images.
• A self‑starter with a positive "can‑do" spirit, excellent communication, technical, innovation and creative skills.
• Ability to advise on and design a range of paperboard and combination packaging, primarily for retail and food service sectors.
