About the roleWe are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the Foundation Learning & Additional Learning Support department at the Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities- Student‑Centred Support – Provide tailored assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across classroom, community and workplace settings.
- Personal & Practical Care – Deliver personal care, administer medication with training, and promote independence through life‑skills development.
- Learning & Progress Monitoring – Support individual learning plans, prepare resources, track progress, and contribute to reports and reviews in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Team Collaboration & Events – Work closely with the Pathways Team, assist with administrative tasks, and participate in college events such as open days and transition activities.
- Safeguarding & Professional Standards – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety policies, maintain a safe and stimulating environment, and engage in ongoing training and development.
- Qualifications & Knowledge – Holds Level 2 in Maths and English, with a relevant Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards it, and a working understanding of SEND.
- Experience & Technical Skills – Experienced in supporting young people with SEND in educational or care settings, proficient in Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate records.
- Communication & Teamwork – Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills across all formats, works well independently and collaboratively, and contributes positively to team dynamics.
