Role: Lecturer - Business and Accounting

Location: Bedford College - Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro‑Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro‑Rata) plus Bank holidays, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 14.8 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time

About the role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business and Accounting to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group.

  • Deliver T‑Level Accounting – Prepare, teach, and assess students on the T‑Level Accounting course.
  • Support Student Success – Guide and motivate learners to achieve their full potential and meet required standards.
  • Ensure Quality Learning – Create engaging lessons, monitor progress, and maintain high‑quality learning environments.
  • Champion Curriculum & Development – Develop schemes of work, innovate teaching methods, and contribute to marketing activities.
  • Uphold College Values & Compliance – Promote safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and participate in training and college‑wide events.
About you
  • Qualified in Accounting – Holds a relevant qualification at least one level above the course being taught.
  • Experienced Educator – Recent teaching experience in accounting with strong classroom management skills.
  • Exceptional Communication & Organisation – Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication, organisational, prioritisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical & Professional Competence – High numeracy, proficient in Microsoft Office, handles sensitive data confidentially, and works effectively under pressure.
  • Values‑Driven & Flexible – Adheres to safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies; able to travel, adapt hours, and maintain professional boundaries.
