Role: Lecturer – Business
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
The Role
- Deliver Business Courses – Teach and assess BTECs and T-Levels (Levels 1–3) in Business, including Management, Marketing, and Accounting.
- Support Student Success – Provide tutorials, monitor progress, and guide learners to achieve their full potential.
- Innovate Teaching & Curriculum – Develop schemes of work, create engaging materials, and contribute to new course development and vocational links.
- Manage Administration & Quality – Complete reports, maintain records, implement quality processes, and participate in meetings and promotional events.
- Uphold College Standards – Promote safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and engage in training and professional development.
- Qualified & Experienced – CIPD or equivalent, Level 6 business-related qualification, GCSE English and Maths; proven industry experience in Business.
- Administrative & Organisational Skills – Skilled in meeting deadlines, maintaining records, monitoring data, and implementing quality processes effectively.
- Teaching & Curriculum Expertise – Ability to develop engaging learning materials, extend vocational learning, and uphold behaviour standards in line with college values.
- Professional & Collaborative – Communicates confidently, promotes equality and diversity, and contributes positively to team and college reputation.
- Adaptable & Committed – Flexible with hours and travel, proactive in upskilling, and dedicated to safeguarding, health & safety, and continuous development.
