About the Role
SENse Learning is offering a unique opportunity for passionate teachers to make a real impact. Our Intervention Tutor roles allow you to provide one‑to‑one support for the most in‑need young people across Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and related specialisms. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing.
Why This Role Is Right For YouYou will play a vital role in supporting students who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education, including behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, to achieve their education goals. Your primary focus will be to deliver bespoke, targeted interventions that re‑engage pupils with education in a supportive, nurturing and holistic environment.

- Experience:
2+ years post‑NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma‑informed way - Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - Approach:
Understanding of how to work in a child‑centred, holistic way; ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student‑centred way - Compliance:
Enhanced DBS (facilitated if needed) and 2+ professional references - Location:
Must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs - Safeguarding:
Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
- Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings
- Provide in‑person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
- Support pupils and students ranging from KS1–KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools, by planning and delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young person’s needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
- Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
