AboutThe Role
We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our Motor Vehicle department at The Bedford College Group.
- Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair across a range of programmes, levels, and qualifications, using engaging and innovative learning resources that meet awarding body requirements. - Assessment, Quality Assurance & Student Progress
- Assess, verify, and moderate learner work, monitor progress against targets and deadlines, maintain accurate records, contribute to IQA processes, and implement quality improvement activities to ensure excellent learner outcomes. - Student Support & Personal Development
- Support learners through tutorials, pastoral guidance, and individual interventions, helping them achieve their potential while promoting positive behaviour and adherence to the Student Code of Conduct. - Curriculum Development & Industry Engagement
- Contribute to curriculum design and course development, maintain current industry knowledge, develop employer links and work experience opportunities, and support innovative teaching and learning practices. - Leadership, Compliance & Professional Standards
- Support course management, mentoring, and staff development activities where appropriate, while ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality and diversity, health & safety, and all college policies and procedures.
- Qualifications & Teaching Capability
- Level 3 relevant qualification, GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), with willingness to achieve a teaching qualification and Assessor/Verifier awards, demonstrating commitment to professional teaching standards. - Teaching Experience & Subject Knowledge
- Recent experience teaching and assessing learners across a range of programmes and levels, supported by up-to-date knowledge of developments within the motor vehicle sector and specialist subject area. - Communication, Relationship Building & Student Support
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, create a welcoming and supportive learning environment, and promote high-quality learner experiences. - Organisation, Professionalism & Team Contribution
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, contribute positively to team objectives, work collaboratively across departments, and consistently uphold professional standards and organisational values. - Compliance, Development & Flexibility
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and continuous professional development, with flexibility to work across sites, adapt to changing demands, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with learners.
Associates work on a short-term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services, and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate Agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.
