Role: Inclusion & Development Coordinator

Location: Bedford, Cauldwell Street

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays,People's Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week, 40 week per year

Contract Type: Permanent

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Inclusion & Development Coordinator to join our Health, Social Care & Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.

• Learner Support & Intervention Coordination - Coordinate and deliver targeted support for learners, identifying barriers to attendance, engagement and progression, and implementing interventions to improve wellbeing, resilience and academic success.
• Collaboration & Inclusive Practice - Work closely with curriculum teams, central services, parents/carers and external partners to provide inclusive support, coordinate referrals, and ensure learners receive appropriate guidance and interventions.
• Wellbeing, Safeguarding & Student Development - Promote learner wellbeing, support behavioural and personal development, advocate for student voice, and ensure safeguarding concerns and vulnerable learner updates are managed effectively.
• Monitoring, Reporting & Communication - Maintain accurate intervention records, track learner progress and support activities, produce reports on trends and outcomes, and ensure information is communicated effectively across relevant teams.
• Professional Contribution & College Engagement - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promote equality and diversity, participate in training and development, support college-wide events and activities, and uphold all safeguarding, health and safety responsibilities.

About you:

• Qualifications & Student Support Experience - Educated to Level 3 or above with GCSE English and Maths, alongside experience in student support, advice and guidance, coaching, mentoring, or learner development roles.
• Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Inclusion - Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to support vulnerable learners, maintain confidentiality, and promote positive wellbeing and engagement.
• Communication & Relationship Building - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with students, staff and stakeholders while providing effective guidance and support.
• Organisation, Analysis & Decision-Making - Strong organisational, project management and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage sensitive information, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines.
• Professionalism & Adaptability - Demonstrates resilience, flexibility and professionalism, with a commitment to continuous development, maintaining appropriate boundaries with young people, supporting college values, and travelling across campuses as required.
