Role: Progress and Development Tutor
Location: The Bedford Sixth Form
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,316 and £34,394 (pro rata) per annum DOE and Qualification, People's Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week - 41 weeks per year
Contract Type: Fixed Term - Full Time (Fixed Term end date: 25th June 27)

We are currently seeking a Progress and Development Tutor to join The Bedford Sixth Form - part of The Bedford College Group.
About the role- Life Skills Teaching & Student Development - Deliver engaging and practical life skills education that develops learners' knowledge, independence, confidence, and progression opportunities, helping them achieve successful outcomes.
- Planning, Delivery & Assessment - Plan schemes of work and lessons, create learning resources, deliver differentiated learning activities, assess progress effectively, and maintain accurate records of learner achievement.
- Classroom Management & Learner Support - Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, manage learner behaviour and attendance, provide constructive feedback, support pastoral needs, and signpost learners to specialist services when required.
- Curriculum, Quality & Collaboration - Contribute to course development, quality improvement activities, work experience programmes, partnership working, marketing and promotion of courses, and collaboration with colleagues and external organisations.
- Professionalism, Safeguarding & Compliance - Promote equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguard learners, adhere to health and safety requirements, complete administrative responsibilities, participate in professional development, and support wider College events and activities.
- Qualifications & Industry Expertise - Holds or is willing to work towards a teaching qualification, with Level 2 English and Maths, current vocational industry knowledge, quality assurance awareness, and a commitment to maintaining up-to-date professional and technical expertise.
- Teaching & Learning Delivery - Able to deliver engaging learning through a variety of teaching approaches and learning modes, motivate and inspire learners, support students across different levels, and adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
- Vocational Skills & Practical Application - Brings relevant industry experience and practical vocational skills, with the ability to solve problems, run effective practical sessions, and apply health and safety standards within learning environments.
- Communication, Organisation & Teamwork - Demonstrates strong presentation, interpersonal, communication, organisational and time-management skills, works effectively as part of a team, and performs confidently in target-driven environments.
- Learner Success & Professional Development - Motivated by learner achievement, committed to continuous professional development, reflective practice, quality improvement, flexibility, and maintaining high standards in teaching and learning.
