Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026

Are you a Computing Teacher who enjoys helping students understand how technology works and encouraging them to solve problems for themselves?

An outstanding secondary school in Bedford is looking for an enthusiastic Computing Teacher to join its department. They want someone who can make Computing accessible and interesting, whether students are writing their first lines of code or working on more advanced programming and computer science concepts.

The school is looking for someone who can teach the subject confidently while helping students develop skills that will be useful far beyond the classroom.

The Role
  • Teach Computing across KS3–KS5, including Computer Science and related digital skills.

  • Develop students' programming, problem-solving and computational thinking skills.

  • Teach programming concepts and languages in a clear and practical way.

  • Support GCSE and A-Level Computer Science students with coursework, programming and examination preparation.

  • Help students understand topics such as algorithms, data, networks, cybersecurity and computer systems.

  • Use practical projects and real-world examples to make lessons engaging.

  • Encourage students to experiment, debug their work and learn from mistakes.

  • Support coding clubs, competitions and other technology-related activities.

The Candidate

We're looking for a Computing specialist who genuinely enjoys technology and likes helping students work things out for themselves.

A degree in Computer Science, Computing or a related subject would be desirable, together with relevant teaching experience. GCSE or A-Level Computer Science experience would be an advantage.

You'll need strong programming and technical knowledge, but you'll also need the patience to explain concepts clearly to students who may be encountering them for the first time.

The Environment

You'll be joining a forward-thinking Computing department within an outstanding secondary school in Bedford.

The school encourages practical learning and gives students opportunities to explore technology beyond the normal curriculum. There is also scope to get involved in coding clubs, competitions and wider digital projects.
