Position: Life Skills / Employability Skills Tutor
Help learners build the skills, confidence and resilience they need for a positive future.
We're looking for a passionate, practical and learner-focused  Life Skills & Employability Tutor  to deliver engaging, purposeful learning that supports prison residents in preparing for life after release.
In this rewarding role, you'll deliver accredited qualifications from  Gateway Entry Level 3 to Level 1 , covering essential life skills and employability topics such as budgeting and money management, digital literacy, communication, confidence and workplace readiness.
Working with groups of up to 12 prison-based learners, you'll take a personalised approach to learning, supporting individuals to identify their strengths, develop practical skills and work towards meaningful personal and employment goals. You'll help learners build the knowledge, confidence and independence they need to take positive steps towards life in the community and the workplace.

As a Life Skills & Employability Tutor, you'll create a positive, inclusive and restorative learning environment where learners are encouraged to take responsibility, reflect on their experiences and recognise their potential.
Your sessions will be practical, relevant and engaging, helping learners develop the everyday skills they need alongside the confidence, communication and employability skills that can support successful resettlement and future employment.
What we're looking for
A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Experience delivering  life skills, employability, personal development or vocational learning  to adults
Experience supporting learners in a secure, community or other challenging learning environment would be advantageous
The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs, including supporting neurodiverse learners and those with low literacy or additional learning needs
Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
A learner-centred approach and the ability to build positive, professional relationships
A genuine commitment to rehabilitation, personal development, second chances and lifelong learning
You'll work collaboratively with  education colleagues, support staff and other stakeholders  to ensure learners receive the guidance and encouragement they need to progress. You'll play an important role in helping learners connect their classroom learning to their goals for life beyond the prison gate.
