Careers and Work Experience Co-ordinator

HEART Academies Trust formed in 2017 and currently consists of one secondary school, Bedford Academy and five partner primary schools, Cauldwell School, Golding ton Green Academy, Shackleton Primary, Shortstown Primary and Wilstead Primary.

We are a non‑profit making charitable company sponsored by the Harpur Trust, one of the largest charities in the UK. With a proven track‑record in education through their ownership and management of four Harpur Trust private schools in Bedford and as a sponsor of Bedford Academy since its creation in 2010, they are the perfect partner to support HEART Academies Trust as we grow.

• To work with students, parents, staff, employers, education providers and voluntary organisations to implement the careers programme for the School.
• To take responsibility for administration of the work experience programme
• To contribute to the high standards that are set by the Bedford Academy staff team at every opportunity, with a clear focus on developing best practice across the school.

• Level 3 qualification (e.g. ‘A’ Levels or equivalent.
• Minimum Level 4 guidance qualification
• Knowledge and understanding of the role of students’ skills in promoting self-esteem and future success of students
• Successful experience of working with adults and young people, both 1:1 and in groups
• Experience of working in an education setting
• Experience of providing information, advice and guidance on learning and work
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to motivate staff and students

Term time: 37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 16:30, Friday 8:30
-16:00
30 minutes unpaid break

Term time plus one week (40 weeks)
