Cad Technician

Edge Careers are working on behalf of a key client that's looking to add a 'CAD Technician' to their engineering and technical team.

This is a Groundworks Contractor that predominantly operates within the Residential Sector. They specialise in Roads, Sewers, Infrastructure, Bulk Earthworks and Housing Plot Groundworks.

I'm looking to speak with candidates that already are working as a CAD Technician within the construction/civils/groundworks sector. Or anyone that has a background as Land Surveyor or Junior Site/Civil Engineer who enjoys the technical aspects of their work and would be open to a career change.

This role will be working out of their Head Office, you will be working within Ground Engineering and reporting directly into the ‘Engineering Manager' They will be responsible for your future development and any additional training/support you might need.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and any additional training/development will be provided by my client.

It would be beneficial/advantageous for this role if you have experience using Modelling Software - such LSS, Agtek, Trimble Business Centre, Civils 3D, N4CE. (Modelling & Design Software - for a complete land survey, terrain modelling, volume, design and visualisation package)

Duties:

Ø 3D modelling of existing and proposed sites to generate cut/fill analysis
Ø Processing survey data
Ø Aiding in design review
Ø Use of Auto Cad to manipulate data
Ø Processing drainage and utilities as-built information
Ø Processing Drone Data & assisting in drone flights
Ø Assisting in developing conceptual site models
Ø Partake in regular team meetings
Ø Working closely with the operational Site Teams & Engineers

Key Attributes:

Ø You must be proficient in AutoCAD and have worked in the Construction Environment

Ø Inquisitive and technically minded, enabling you to complete your workload to the highest standard and to seek the answers that others may not find
Ø Working to specific deadlines
Ø Good communication skills, confident with speaking to existent clients and prospective new ones to understand and deliver their requirements

Ø Experience would be beneficial using Earthworks Modelling software (Civils 3D, LSS, Agtek, Trimble Business Centre, N4CE)
Ø It would be beneficial to have an understanding of Civil Engineering and Earthworks
Ø Any site based experience working within the Groundworks Engineering department would again be beneficial.
