We re recruiting for a well-established UK engineering manufacturer seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Site Engineer to join their operations team. This is a hands-on role combining site-based field service work with workshop support in Bedford. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with pumps, rotating equipment, and engineered products.

Our client designs and manufactures bespoke pumping solutions for the UK water industry and global markets, providing installation, commissioning, and long-term support.

• Predominantly field-based: installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding
• Workshop support when not on site
• Regular UK travel with occasional overnight stays
• Minimal to no weekend work

You ll work closely with project managers, customers, and other engineers to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

• Install, commission, service, and repair pumping / rotating equipment
• Fault-find and resolve mechanical issues on site
• Liaise with customers, project managers, and internal teams
• Support workshop assembly, testing, and continuous improvement
• Maintain high safety, quality, and customer standards

• Mechanical engineering background (with some electrical understanding)
• Engineering qualification or strong hands-on experience
• Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, motors, bearings, or similar
• Site-based or field service engineering experience
• Confident, safety-focused, and customer-facing

• £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
• Mon-Thu 08:15-16:45 | Fri 08:15-13:45
• Overtime at 1.5x
