Electrical Design Engineer

We are an established Bedfordshire-based manufacturer of special purpose machines to household names across the globe and serving a wide range of industries is expanding our in‑house engineering team.

Due to a sustained period of growth we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our business.

Based at our recently refurbished site on the outskirts of Bedford (within easy reach of the A6 and A421 and free on‑site parking) with an early finish on Fridays, you will work on both improving our existing product ranges and the development of new products.

In addition, occasionally (approximately 4 to 5 times a year) you will travel both in the UK and overseas to customer sites to resolve any automation issues regarding commissioning, installation and troubleshooting.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in special purpose control systems, incorporating PLC‑control systems such as Siemens S7 and/or Rockwell Control Logix.

Experience with servo drive applications would be a strong advantage.

We invite applications from Controls and Automation Engineers with the following attributes:

• Experience designing electrical control systems for automation or special purpose machinery
• Solid understanding of AutoCAD Electrical
• Previously designed safety control systems and used validation software
• Ability to create risk assessments and design safety circuits to meet appropriate SIL level
• Valid Passport and Full driving licence
