Description
Asbestos analysts and surveyors play a vital role in protecting people and the environments they live and work in. Operating at the intersection of science, safety and regulation, they identify and assess asbestos risks in buildings, ensuring that materials are managed, removed or handled safely. From on‑site surveys to detailed laboratory analysis, their work is essential in preventing exposure and maintaining compliance across a wide range of industries.
What makes the role particularly interesting is the balance between fieldwork and technical expertise. You will carry out surveys in homes, offices or construction sites, collect samples, assess risk, and support or interpret analysis to confirm the presence of asbestos. Your findings directly inform critical decisions, from refurbishment plans to large‑scale demolition projects, making accuracy and professionalism key.
There is a clear pathway for progression. With experience you could specialise in air monitoring, consultancy, project management or compliance, building a career that combines technical knowledge with real‑world impact across sectors such as construction, environmental services and property management.
