Mechanical Design Engineer (3D) – Solid Works Specialist

FLI Water, part of the FLI Group, is looking for a talented 3D Mechanical Design Engineer to help us deliver innovative, engineered solutions for water and wastewater projects across the UK. If you thrive on turning concepts into robust, buildable designs, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

• Create and develop 3D models in Solid Work
  s for bespoke mechanical systems
• Produce detailed fabrication drawings, P&IDs, BOMs, and “as‑built” documentation
• Work closely with technical, sales, and project teams from concept through to completion
• Interface with client BIM systems and support internal design tool development
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Several years of mechanical design experienc, ideally in steel fabrication for water/wastewater
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player with a problem‑solving mindset
• Experience with AutoCAD required;
  Plant 3D, Revit, FEA, or instrumentation experience is a bonu

• Work on high‑impact projects (up to £6M) that support essential UK infrastructure
• Be part of a collaborative, forward‑thinking engineering team

• Based at our head office and workshop in Kempston, Bedfordshire
• Full UK driving licence required
