Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety procedures and follow good engineering practices
  • Carry out Planned Maintenance and use the site's Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Respond to breakdowns as identified by Engineering or Production Operatives
  • Show a proactive approach and find solutions to problems
  • Install or modify plant as requested by Engineering Management
  • Demonstrate effective documented handovers
  • Self-prioritise work schedule when necessary
  • Identify and order spares to facilitate plant efficiency
  • Communicate with Production and Engineers verbally and via CMMS
  • Liaise and work with all other departments to understand site problems
  • Take ownership of engineering-based housekeeping responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor Planned Maintenance adherence and recording
  • Manage and monitor site calibrations and keep documentation updated
Required Profile

Qualification:

Served a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline

Experience, Key Behaviours and Functional Competencies
  • Qualified in an Electromechanical engineering discipline
  • Preferably served a recognised apprenticeship
  • Must have an understanding of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Flexible, reliable, and confident in making own decisions
  • Confident in communicating with other departments
  • Able to work under pressure, to deadlines, and unsupervised
  • Good working knowledge of best engineering practices
  • Demonstrates bench fitting skills and fault diagnosis
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems including PLCs, with willingness for continued professional development
  • Knowledge of calibrating site instrumentation
  • Previous experience in the food and beverage production industry would be beneficial
