Modelling and Simulation Systems Engineer (LRAE)

Ampthill, Bedfordshire

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus on modelling and simulation to be based on site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices in a permanent capacity. The role involves high-speed aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic modelling of systems, integrating into multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and performing key analyses to support programme objectives within a defence environment.

• General external flow aerodynamics modelling
• Trajectory modelling
• Aerothermodynamics modelling
• Thermal response modelling
• Model optimisation / calibration
• Ground trials analysis

• Experience of numerical modelling / computational methods
• Basic understanding of statistical methods
• Degree level education in aeronautical/aerospace engineering or equivalent through education or career experiential learning
• Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Clear and concise report writing skills
• Good teamwork and ability to work in multidisciplinary environments
• Self-drive to deliver programme activities; role may be customer-facing
• Strong communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders within the company and with customers
• Experience in a classified setting preferred
• Willingness to pursue DV Clearance preferred
