Job Purpose

The Part-145 Compliance & Safety Engineer is responsible for supporting the organisation's Compliance Monitoring System and Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, other NAA approvals and ISO 9001 held. The role ensures continued compliance with UK Part-145, company procedures and regulatory obligations while promoting a proactive safety culture across both operating bases.

The individual will assist in maintaining regulatory compliance, conducting audits, investigating safety occurrences, analysing trends and supporting continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Monitoring
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the Compliance Monitoring Programme.
  • Conduct and report internal compliance audits across both operating bases (as required).
  • Perform product, process and system audits in accordance with the annual audit schedule (as required)
  • Verify compliance with:
    • UK Part-145
    • UK CAA regulations
    • FAA, TCCA and BCAA regulations
    • EASA regulations (when applicable)
    • Maintenance Organisation Exposition
    • Company procedures
    • Customer requirements where applicable
  • Raise audit findings and observations
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure effective closure
  • Assist with maintaining audit records and compliance documentation
  • Support external audits conducted by the UK CAA and customers
  • Identify areas of regulatory risk and recommend improvements
  • Assist with approval changes
  • Assist with maintaining company training records and authorisations
  • Support weekly management meetings
Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Support the operation and continual improvement of the Safety Management System.
  • Administer the company hazard identification and occurrence reporting processes.
  • Promote confidential and Just Culture reporting.
  • Investigate maintenance errors, incidents and safety occurrences.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using recognised investigation techniques.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators (SPIs).
  • Assist with the safety risk assessments.
  • Maintain the organisational Safety Risk Register.
  • Produce monthly safety reports as required.
  • Support safety meetings and management reviews.
Documentation & Regulatory Support
  • Assist in maintaining the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), SMS Manual and other NAA Supplements
  • Assist the Review of regulatory publications and assess organisational impact.
